Mongolia

Mongolia is located between Russia to the north and China to the south, in the interior of East Asia, far from any ocean.

The country has a marked continental climate, with long cold winters and short mild to hot summers.

Its remarkably varied landscape consists largely of dryland steppes, semi-deserts and deserts, although in the west and north forested mountain ranges alternate with lake-dotted basins.

The capital is Ulaanbaatar and close by is the largest equestrian monument ever created in the world, the statue of Genghis Khan.
