Cuba, officially the Republic of Cuba, is a country comprising the island of Cuba as well as Isla de la Juventud and several smaller archipelagos.
It is located where the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean meet. It lies east of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, south of the US state of Florida and the Bahamas, west of Hispaniola and north of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
The main island is Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean, with an area of 104,556 km2. Cuba is the second most populous country in the Caribbean, after Haiti, with over 11 million inhabitants. Havana is its largest city and capital and tobacco is one of the most popular products.
