Norway

Norway is a Nordic country situated in Northern Europe, occupying the western part of the Scandinavian Peninsula, as well as the island of Jan Mayen and the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard.

It is believed that the name of the country means “the way to the north,” which in Old Norse would have been “nor veg.”

The population of Norway is approximately 5.1 million inhabitants.

The country is famous for its spectacular fjords, surrounded by high mountains. The world’s longest fjord is the Sognefjord, with a length of approximately 128 miles.
