Yemen

Yemen is a country in Asia, located at the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula and covering an area of 527970 km2.

It is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the south and the Red Sea to the west and borders Saudi Arabia to the north and Oman to the east. In addition to the mainland, Yemen also includes a number of islands off the Horn of Africa, the largest of which is Socotra.

The most important cities are Sanah, the capital with 1,471,300 inhabitants, Aden, Ta’izz and Hodeida.

Yemen is one of the oldest centers of civilization in the Middle East, although it is still a developing country.
