My name is Hugo Amendoeira, I’m from Almada and I was born in 1983.
In the world of photography I’m known as Hugo Só.
The idea of creating a pseudonym arose while I was still at university when a teacher “baptized” me, a joke that continues to this day, in photography, because for me this is an art that makes me lose myself in time and travel a mostly solitary path in the world.
The arts in general have always played a major role in my life, especially when I began to have eyes to see and feel my surroundings.
Because of my professional field, architect, image is a significant part of my work and the way I can expose it and show it to other people.
Later, in 2011, I had the opportunity to buy my first DSLR, to increase the quality of my images and presentations, but from there to photographing everything around me that provokes sensations came quickly.
I registered on various websites and groups to share and be criticized, bought various books and magazines to provide theoretical background, exchanged ideas with other photographers and never stopped.
What was a tool became a passion and, today, photography is a significant part of my life and is how I express my vision of the world, in this sense I think we all do the same when we create a photograph, but this is mine and I feel that through sharing we can all grow and evolve, so joining papa Léguas was wanting to do something I had already done in the past but in a serious way.
