Ecuador is located in the Andes mountain range and borders Colombia and Peru.
One of its main attractions is an island region, the Galapagos archipelago, which is located about a thousand kilometers from the coast.
Ecuador has around 200 volcanoes, seven of which are still active.
The territory has a surface area of 270,667 km2 and has about 17 million inhabitants, making it the most densely populated country in Latin America.
Its most important cities are Quito, which is also the capital, Guayaquil, Cuenca, Manta, Salinas.
